Why Coaching?

Richard is a PGA Triple-A coach and has recently completed my level 3 diploma in Golf Physiology. He is a highly regarded golf teacher and works with all standards of golfers helping them to develop their talents and get more enjoyment from the game. Lessons are available to be booked and golf schools are available throughout the year, helping you to improve the various aspects of your game.

Recently, Richard has developed an indoor Golf Studio and installed the GC Quad launch monitor in order to improve his teaching experience and help golfers understand where improvements can be made in their games.

Richard Whitford - Head PGA Professional

I was born in Belfast. I studied for a BSc Hons degree in geography from Queens University Belfast and graduated in 2000 from Belfry PGA diploma degree fully qualified. From 2000-2002 I was a member of PGA Europro Tour. I have been the head AAT + PGA Professional at Knock Golf Club since 2006 and I was previously the Pro at Kirkistown Castle Golf Club for four years. With key knowledge on the modern game I teach with high spec cameras, various training aids and a keen professsional eye. I am one of four Titleist ambassadors in the North giving me the resources and knowledge to fit any Titleist or Scotty Cameron product on the market. I'm an Ulster provincial coach at U18 level and I'm a PGA level 3 golf coach who continues to up-skill in all facets of the game. I am also a regular player and winner on the PGA Irish Region tournament calender.
